40th Annual Beattie Milo Festival 2009

Come one, come all to the 40th Beattie Milo Festival on Saturday, August 15th, 2009. Beattie is located in Marshall County, KS.– 12 miles east of Marysville, Ks. just one mile off Hwy 36.
Here’s what you will find going on Aug. 15th: 8 a.m.–Milo Head/Corn Exhibit; Sport Clay Shoot; Co-Ed Softball Tournament; Semi Show; 8:30 a.m. Frog Jump & Little King & Queen Contest; 9 a.m. Craft Show in the Old Twin Valley Building and Twin Valley Thrift Store Open House–in the Old Beattie Elementary School; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.–Local Historical Photos Exhibit located in the Beattie Library on Main Street.
At 10 a.m. will be the “It’s a Small Town Holiday Parade;” Parades in Beattie are scheduled for every five years. At 11 a.m. come ride the Antique Trackless Train. The Pedal Tractor Pull registration starts at 11:30 a.m.
Come enjoy lunch at St. Malalchy’s Parish Hall or the Semi Show.
At 1 p.m. will be the Antique Tractor Pull and the Garden Tractor Pull along with Water Fights at the Fire house; 1:30 p.m. will be children’s Bike Races; 2:30 Greased Pig Contest; 3:30 p.m. Cow Chip Toss; 4:30 p.m. a Chicken/Pork BBQ. The MS CO. Community Band will perform at 6 p.m.

New to the festival this year will be the Friday Night free hot dog and ice cream feed. For children, there will be a hot dog eating contest and kiddie carnival.

Historic Pictures of Beattie

Once again this year, Jan Studer will be collecting photos of early Beattie that will be used in a display during the annual Beattie Milo Festival on August 15, 2009.

Photo may be taken to the library on Tues, Thurs, or Sat from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
